Progress stays local

Your playthroughs and preferences are saved on your device. Device backups may also retain them.

Online content needs a connection

Content servers receive technical request information when the app loads stories and videos.

No account required

The current app has no account registration, advertising SDK, or in-app analytics service.

01. Who we are and what this covers

Interlude is an interactive drama app that lets you watch stories, make narrative choices, and resume your progress. It is operated by Forward Silver Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

This policy explains the data practices of the current Interlude mobile app. It does not cover separate content creation tools or websites. The current app uses a local player profile and does not offer account registration, cloud save synchronization, in-app purchases, or user content uploads.

02. Information the app handles

Story progress and playback

The app stores story and content identifiers, playthrough identifiers, your choices and resulting story state, completed endings, playback position, completion status, and update times on your device. Local action records and backup snapshots help preserve progress and prevent duplicate actions.

Preferences and local content records

The app saves your language and autoplay preferences, content versions, and content integrity information locally. It also uses local identifiers to manage saves and playback sessions. These identifiers are not advertising identifiers. The app does not upload this local database as a cloud save or analytics feed.

Network request information

When the app refreshes its story catalog, streams a video, or preloads a clip for playback, the receiving content server processes your IP address and the requested resource. Requests may also include standard client headers. Depending on server logging settings, records may include request time, resource path, response status, transferred bytes, and user-agent information.

Requested video resources may reveal which content was loaded, including clips preloaded before you watch them. This is separate from uploading your saved choices or complete playthrough history.

Information you choose to send us

If you contact us through the contact address below, we receive your email address and whatever information you include, such as a message or screenshot. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

The current app does not ask you to provide your name, phone number, payment card details, contacts, precise location, camera recordings, microphone recordings, or personal photos. It does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or a dedicated analytics or crash-reporting service.

03. How information is used

  • Provide interactive stories: load content, stream videos, apply your choices, and resume playback.
  • Remember your settings: apply your selected language and playback preferences.
  • Keep progress consistent: match saves to the correct content version and protect against duplicate progress updates.
  • Operate content delivery: fulfill network requests and, where operational logs are retained, diagnose delivery errors and protect the service from abuse.
  • Respond to you: handle support messages and privacy requests you choose to send.

We do not use your local story choices for advertising, and the current app does not send them to an AI service for model training.

04. Service providers and disclosure

The app obtains its online story catalog from Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS) and streams videos through the content delivery domain cdn.vcredit.com. These services receive the technical request information described above to deliver the requested content.

Your saved playthrough database and preferences are not included in these content requests. However, the resource requested can identify a story or clip. Content hosting and delivery services may maintain operational or security logs.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information we hold may be disclosed when legally required, to respond to a valid legal request, or when necessary to protect the security and legal rights of users or the service.

Your operating system, app store, and device backup provider may independently process information under their own privacy settings and policies. This includes any system diagnostics or backups you enable.

05. Device access and storage

Interlude uses internet access for online content and app storage for progress and preferences. Its current playback features do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location, and do not scan or upload your personal photo library or files.

Permission availability can vary by operating system and installed build. You can review and manage permissions in your device settings. Declining access needed for a feature may prevent that feature from working.

The app does not use advertising cookies. Local storage supports app functionality. If you open a policy or support page in a browser, that website's hosting and browser practices also apply.

06. Retention and deletion

Data on your device

Story saves, settings, playback checkpoints, and related records remain in app storage until overwritten through normal use or removed by clearing app data or deleting the app. Starting a new playthrough does not erase previous saved records. The current app has no in-app control to erase all local data.

  • Android: use the app's storage settings to clear storage/data, or uninstall the app. Clearing only the cache does not remove the saved database.
  • iOS: use Delete App to remove the app and its local data. Offload App retains documents and data.

Deleting local data removes progress and preferences from that installation. We do not provide cloud save recovery. Operating-system backups may retain a separate copy and may restore data after reinstallation or device migration. Manage or delete those copies through your device or backup provider's settings.

Information outside your device

Deleting the app does not itself erase content-delivery logs, device backups, or messages you have sent us. The retention period or criteria for content-delivery logs and support correspondence is: [CONFIRMED LOG AND SUPPORT RETENTION PERIODS OR CRITERIA].

You may contact us to request deletion of information we hold about you. Any applicable legal retention obligation or restriction will be explained when relevant to your request.

07. Your choices and privacy rights

You can change language and autoplay preferences in the app, control permissions and backups in device settings, and remove local app data as described above. Disabling autoplay does not block catalog refreshes or all video preloading. Blocking network access prevents online content loading.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, and complain to your local data protection authority.

Send requests using the contact details below. We may need proportionate information to verify your request. We cannot directly access or retrieve a playthrough that exists only on your device, and we do not ask you to create an account to exercise privacy rights.

08. Security

The app's configured online content endpoints use HTTPS. Local records are stored within the app's device storage area and rely on operating-system access controls. Keep your device protected and review who can access your backups.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Local storage is not a guarantee against access through an unlocked or compromised device, a backup, or a device management service.

09. Where information is processed

Your local saves and preferences remain on your device unless handled by your operating system's backup or migration services. The current online catalog endpoint uses Alibaba Cloud's Shanghai region in China. Video delivery may involve additional server or edge locations.

Technical request information may therefore be processed outside your country or region, where privacy laws may differ. Contact us for information about the processing locations and transfer safeguards applicable to the service available in your region.

10. Younger users

Please follow the age rating and eligibility requirements shown for Interlude in your app store and applicable local requirements. A content age rating is not a statement that parental consent has been obtained.

The current app does not request a date of birth or registration details. Its local storage and online content request practices described in this policy also apply when a younger person uses the app. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and address the request under applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice, and any consent required by applicable law will be requested before the relevant processing begins.
